SATA on the Road Again….
NOVEMBER 08-09 NASHVILLE & TENNESSE
Fantastic presentations by the Nicaraguan Tourist Bureau and Latour. Noemy Menaham and Jim Woodman did terrific presentations. More than 80 agents participate at the Marriott Nashville Airport and the Embassy Suites. SATA is kicking and next year we have schedule more than 20 cities….!!! Next meeting ….SATA CHRISTMAS PARTY…get your shoes ready…!!!
OCTOBER 17-18 CALIFORNIA (Concord and San Jose)
We had fantastic turnouts in San Francisco area. More than 50 agents came to Concord and 60 agents came to see our “Latin America Trade Show” at the Hilton Concord and Crown Plaza in San Jose. Both venues were sponsor by Lan and Big Five Expeditions and Raj SANGHRAJKA gave his fabulous overview of “Around Latin America” Travel agents enjoy his presentation…some of these agents drove an hour away to get to this hotels. Agents liked the quality of the suppliers, the format and the destination presentation. The caliber of travel agents coming to our functions are getting better ……..SATA did it again..!! Next stop….Birmingham and Nashville….SATA IS MOVING…!!!
OSSN TRADE SHOW – BALTIMORE SEP.23-24
Massive Travel Agent Turnout in Baltimore for Home Based & Romantic Vacation Tradeshows and Conferences. An enthusiastic throng of 1,363 travel agents from 44 states and Canada moved into Baltimore last weekend for the 2nd annual Home Based Agent Show and the co-located 3rd annual Honeymoon & Romantic Getaways Show and Conference, marking this one of the most highly attended events of its kind in many years. Training sessions, seminars and panels, the General Session and a ship board inspection were jammed with appreciative travel agents, and applauded by some 250 exhibitor companies, both domestic and international. Sata was represented by our Vice-President Raj Shangraja and our super coordinator Dee Rovira….and about 10 of our suppliers sent their brochures to be distributed in this fantastic trade show.
ARLINGTON, VA SEPTEMBER 21
Another fantastic night for SATA ! We had about 45 travel agent and 16 suppliers. LAN AIRLINES was
the sponsor for the night and did a great job. Jim Woodman out did himself again and his presentation for Latin America was just terrific with all kind of new information . The Marriott Key Bridge was a great choice and great food…!!
BALTIMORE, MD
More than 40 travel agents and 16 exhibitors came to our presentation with the Nicaragua Tourist Office. As always Señor Jim Woodman did and excellent presentation on Nicaragua. The event was held at the Sheraton Inner Harbor Hotel in Baltimore. Especial thanks to all our super coordinator Ms. Dee Rovira for such a fine job putting this presentation together.
CHICAGO JUNE 15
Just fantastic..! more than 140 agents came to visit and talk to 16 suppliers among them Big Five, Altura tours, Isram-Latour, Lan Chile, Mila Tours, Tara Tours, Ladacto, Guatemala tourist Bureau, Nicaragua Tourism Ofc. ….and more. Mr. Luis Vasquez did a fantastic presentation on Latin America and highlight the most important tourist destinations…..Travel agents need more of this educational lectures…

SAN DIEGO & ORANGE COUNTY MAY 17 & 18.
The merry month of May found SATA in sunny southern California….15 expert SATA suppliers found welcoming PATA travel agents in both San Diego and Orange county. Both venues were attended by 50 retail agents anxious to see what new products were available in Latin America.
To help them understand the destinations bordering the Pacific ocean (after all these were PATA agents), Alma Megaeth of Eco-Adventures gave us all an enthusiastic and informative presentation of the Central and South American countries with Pacific coastlines. Degree of interest by the agent was seen as many were busily taking notes on what Alma was saying! Both cities want us back next year too!
Quite a number of SATA suppliers provided fantastic door prizes including, air tickets, fam trips, etc.
Our administrative secretary, Dee Rovira, did a great job in coordinating the buffet menu in San Diego…all enjoyed the tastes of Latin America.!
And a special thanks to Floriana Martinez and American Airlines for getting us there and back!
June will see SATA in St.Louis (June 14) and in Chicago (June 15)…SATA looking forward to seeing you there!

KNOXVILLE and ATLANTA – More than 80 assist to this presentations and the SPONSOR was the Guatemala Tourist board. The quality of agents were good and very enthusiastic on selling Latin America. Dinner was terrific! Atlanta surpassed expectations…it was a sold out presentation..!! and the seminar on Guatemala was excellent.

SOLD OUT PRESENTATIONS DENVER, PORTLAND, SEATTLE OCTOBER 18,19,20, 2004
This time we travel to Denver, Portland & Seattle….every presentation was sold out and we just want to thanks all travel agents that assisted to these cities….Jim Woodman did a terrific lecture on South America and got standing ovations…! 70 agents participate in Seattle-Portland and 50 in Denver.
All suppliers were bombarded with questions about commissions, new tour packages and quotes for feature bookings….Great cities for SATA members..!!

SENSATIONAL PRESENTATIONS IN JACKSONVILLE & ORLANDO
July 13 and 14, 2004 Sata does it again. Great presentation by Annie Berk lecturing about Costa Rica and Sponsored by Martinair. More than 55 agents assisted in Jacksonville. Then came Orlando, where another 70 agents showed up for an educational seminar on Panama. The night was sponsored by COPA airlines. Great job by our President Ms. Jewayne Keyser.
MINNEAPOLIS & CHICAGO PRESENTATIONS
SATA had it’s main event for June in both Minneapolis and in Chicago. In Minneapolis the event was held on June 15, 2004 and a total of 64 enthusiastic travel agents participated. Mr. Jim Woodman delivered an excellent lecture and took the agents on a journey through Latin America, country by country, what a treat, that was. In Chicago, the event was more than a successful one, it was “SOLD OUT”. A total of 110 agents participated at this presentation, we were honored to have the event sponsored by MILA TOURS, www.milatours.com who also delivered a very educational speech on Latin America . Mr. Jim Woodman was a standing ovation, the agents did not want to leave, they all came out thanking us for visiting their city and hope that SATA returns. We’ll have a larger room next year. TRADE SHOW SEMINAR IN THE CAROLINAS
Sata visited Raleigh and Charlotte – In Raleigh Durham we held our presentation at the Holiday Inn RTP (May 4th). A total of 30 agents participated along with 12 table top Suppliers. Jim Woodman was our guest speaker and as usual, made a lasting impression on our agents. Already I received an e-mail with compliments on having Jim as SATA’s speaker. They called him a “GEM”. In Charlotte we held our presentation at the Wyndham Hotel (May 5th). A total of 45 agents attended, and a total of 12 table top suppliers. Both nights, were successful evenings, most of the suppliers raffled many delightful gifts, such as a trip to anywhere in South or Central America, by American Airlines. Sol Melia raffled 3 days in Costa Rica in conjunction with Martinair. Barcelo also raffled 3 days at the “Playa Blanca” Resort in Panama. And our first time supplier “Hotel El Panama”, also raffled 3 nights. Our guests were very impressed from presentation to dinner to raffle….
SATA VISITED DALLAS & S.ANTONIO MARCH 9-10, 2004
Another fantastic night for SATA ! We had about 60 travel agent and 12 suppliers…. and as always -good old Woodman out did himself….his presentation for BRAZIL was just terrific with all kind of new information helpful to travel agents..and suppliers. The Sheraton hotel in Dalls and the Doubletree in San Antonio were excellent choices. Join SATA to Promote Latin America..!!

What a way to start 2004….90 travel agents assist our Brazil presentation by Jim Woodman. Also, more than 15 companies (airlines, tour operators, etc) were able to offer their latest news and tour programs to the retail travel agent community. As always -senhor Jim Woodman did a terrific job lecturing about Brazil and its tourism attractions. Congratulations to our new President Jawayne Keyser for a job well done.
